Radio Advisory Council (RAC)

Radio Advisory Council (RAC) Purpose

As part of our station building process, we have a group of community members and staff from the Media Factory who continue to work to provide the leadership and station operation. This group acted as the first “board” for WBTV-LP and after station launch, transitioned to a governance model that has dedicated RAC seats for programmers, listeners, and staff.

Since the spring of 2016, the RAC has met twice a month. Currently the RAC is made up of chairs from our working committees of Outreach/Education, Tech, Programming, in addition to Media Factory staff.

RAC Members

  • Kate Blofson (Community & Governance Representative)
  • Jess Wilson (PEG Representative, RETN Executive Director)
  • Shelagh Shapiro (Listener Representative, RETN Board Member)
  • Patrick Heltz (Programmer & Programming Committee Representative)
  • Athena Kafantaris (Outreach Committee Representative & WBTV-LP Station Coordinator)

RAC Meeting Schedule

Due to COVID-19 safety measures, the RAC has met remotely with some disruption since March 2020. We hope to return to on-site meetings once we reopen our facility.

Prior to the pandemic, the RAC met on the 2nd Monday of every month at 5:30 at the Media Factory, 208 Flynn Avenue, Burlington, VT.

RAC Minutes available upon request.
