We’re excited to announce that noted Vermont oral historian Kate Blofson will be offering a workshop on interviewing!
Thursday, July 27, 7-8:30pm:
“Interested in enhancing your interviewing skills? As a relationship-based method, oral history can add depth and complexity to your interviews. After a brief introduction to oral history, we’ll discuss life history and open-ended interviewing, and practice some hard and soft interviewing skills. Participants are welcome to share/workshop a project they are working on.”
Kate is a beekeeper at French Hill Apiaries during the season, and works on oral history projects during the winter. After conducting a place-based oral history project for her thesis about the Winooski intervale, Kate worked with the Vermont Historical Society, collecting interviews for the Vermont 70s Project
. She believes in the power and possibility of storytelling.
